This week I ‘ave been mostly drinking...

Due to a number of factors, we're a bit thin on the ground as far as blog entries go this week! Nevertheless, Ally and Dianne (aka. double trouble!) have come up trumps with two fantastic recommendations for you.

Dianne Barrie, Company Administrator – As we were out for supper on Saturday night, it was simply a case of relaxing with a glass of wine when we got home from the restaurant to round off a lovely evening and, what had been, a very enjoyable meal. It didn’t have to be anything too complex or hard-going either, we just wanted to enjoy an easy-going sort of wine. And, this is exactly what we got with Vina Apaltagua Huaquen Sauvignon Blanc 2012 from Chile. This is refreshing yet soft wine on the palate with floral aromas and hints of grapefruit and lime – it actually would have gone very well with the Indian meal we had at the restaurant, but regardless of the food, it was a wine we enjoyed very much and at only £7.63 per bottle it’s a snip for this real fabulous little wine!

Ally Moir, Shop Assistant – Sometimes you never quite realise what you’ve got on your own doorstep – in this case a wee gem of a whisky all the way from Crieff. Soft, gentle, sweet, honey, a little orangey Glenturret 10 year old has been hitting the perfect spot for me. Just lovely.
